Protect your eyes on workout!
Throughout these past months, we all had to adapt to a whole new routine. We may often feel that spending an afternoon relaxing at home will help us escape stressful situations, but it has been proven again and again that an hour of outdoor exercise can have a positive effect on our body and our mood.
Exercising outdoors is much more beneficial because of our exposure to the sun, the fresh air and the change of scenery.
Research indicates that people enjoyed exercising in a natural environment a lot more, they felt more revitalized, energetic and satisfied and they were more likely to repeat doing so, while they noted the significant drop in emotional tension, anxiety, anger and depression.
Outdoor activities such as hiking, walking, running and biking can make you feel great. Think what best suits your taste, get appropriately ready with equipment, clothing and shoes, but also glasses and get ready to form a whole new healthy habit!
However, beware! There is a misconception that during wintertime the sun does not hurt our skin. In reality, the harmful UV rays are there throughout the year- they simply vary in intensity.
Research has shown that UVA rays have the ability to penetrate clouds and fog, as well as glass and reflective surfaces, such as building windows and mass transportation vehicles. Each time the sun comes out, UVA rays are there. So, despite the fact that during wintertime there is less sunshine compared to the summertime, it is still important to protect your eyes and skin during winter, as well.
